Collaboration Day



Join us to address issues revolving around student enrollment, co-op opportunities, certification, acquired skill documentation and becoming engaged in the profession.

Collaboration Day will be held at BCIT
SE02-214 Town Square D
On May 8, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Proposed Agenda to keep discussion going from previous meetings:

Increase awareness of Power Engineering as a career

Find industry steam time opportunities

Locate potential graduate and co-op opportunities

Encourage interaction between colleges, IPE, industry and safety authorities

Describe how students benefit from involvement in IPEWork with Trade Unions to create paid placements

Encourage industry partners that lend support through Corporate memberships

Develop a list of plants that can supply steam time to colleges

Need to help develop accurate, up to date labour market information

Work with industry to create steam time opportunities for 4th Class Power EngineersContinue to involve/educate government wrt
Power Engineering issues

Take Power Engineering to high schools

Get feedback on refrigeration issues to IPECCGet out and spread the message about the benefits of hiring a Power Engineer

Apply for assistance in the Labour Market Partnership program
